Basit Huma arrived in Malaysia in *2017* seeking asylum, carrying dreams of safety and a brighter future for her two children. In *2018, her son **Freed Ahmad* (then in Grade 1) and daughter *Azqa Hmayal* (then in Junior Nursery) began their journey at Empower Learning System Klang. Seven years later, in *2025, Freed thrives in **IGCSE Level 1, mastering subjects like **Mathematics and Science, while Azqa shines in **Grade 4*, excelling in creative writing and robotics projects—a testament to the learning centre’s unwavering support and their own determination.“This learning centre became our safe haven,” Basit shares. “When we needed stability, Empower Klang gave my children more than education—they gave them confidence, joy, and a place to grow. During the pandemic, their teachers went above and beyond, delivering online lessons with patience and even checking in on our family’s well-being. Freed struggled with virtual learning at first, but his math teacher stayed after class to help him grasp algebra. Now, he’s tutoring peers!” Freed’s journey from a shy Grade 1 student to a motivated IGCSE learner highlights his academic rigor and curiosity. “I love physics experiments—last term, we built mini rockets!” he says. Azqa, who once clung to her mother’s hand in Nursery, now leads classroom debates and recently won an art competition. “My favorite subject is coding,” she beams. “We’re designing a game about climate change!” Empower Klang’s nurturing environment has fostered not just academic growth but resilience.
